Thinking First Before You Act (Out)

Think About It!

Because ADHD often involves impulsive behavior, thinking before you act is often difficult. ADDYTeens have to learn how to act appropriately, especially if they want to be respected by others. This includes parents, coaches, and teachers, but also your friends.

ADDYTeens will sometimes push safe boundaries, skiing out-of-control-fast, driving out-of-control-fast, testing gravity by jumping off of things that you shouldn’t jump off of.

Other risky behaviors can include deciding to have sex without birth control/other protection, and/or drug and alcohol use.

TIP: On a more positive note, sometimes your impassivity will lead to fantastic and creative ideas!

This Set PLAY is detailed in Grace's new book "Winning with ADHD"

Grace gives proven step-by-step instructions for this situation and the most common home-related issues, school problems, coping strategies, peer struggles, and other scenarios which affect ADDYTeens everywhere.
