Three things about ADHD

Three things about ADHD are true, and the sooner you accept them, the more likely you will be to able to learn how to win in life on your terms.

ADHD is a real thing. It’s a medical condition, it is how you were born, you did not choose to have it, you did not do anything wrong, and it will not go away if you ignore it. In fact, it never goes away. Yup, real talk. However, learning to manage ADHD can make you very strong, very creative, very accomplished and very competitive. Think about it, who is stronger, the one who has learned how to thrive with a heavy backpack filled with rocks, or those who never had to carry one?

You are not alone. There are millions of young people who have ADHD, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. You are not stupid, you are not weak, you do not have a defect, but it is a challenge, no doubt. Life is unfair, having ADHD is unfair. Get comfortable with this idea.

Having ADHD just means you think differently. You and I process information differently, you do things differently and this means you will learn differently and succeed using different techniques than those without ADHD. That’s right, you will need manage your ADHD, or it will manage you.

Now, do yourself a favor, and read these three points again. Seriously, read them again.
